Family Day Care

Family Day Care is a unique form of child care, one that is able to nurture each child due to both the 'home' based setting and the small carer-child ratios. It provides a flexible form of care that includes overnight and weekend care and casual care.

Care is provided in the carer's own home for children from 6 weeks to 12 years. Carers and their home environment are assessed and approved in accordance with State Government legislation.

Approved Carers may care for 7 children with no more than 4 children who have not yet started school.

The Gowrie (Qld) Inc. is the sponsor of six Family Day Care Schemes and provides a benchmark standard which is widely recognised and respected throughout Australia. All schemes sponsored by Gowrie (Qld) are accredited through the National Childcare Accreditation Council.
